Our Story
The Vintage Book Company was born out of a desire to make wonderful books more accessible for people to enjoy.
We’ve done the leg-work locating unique books and used our experience to translate technical bookie language so that we’re able to present our customers with quality books ready to own, or to give as gifts.
We’ve built a network of dealers and suppliers from around the UK and America so we make sure we own the best books which we can go on to offer at the best prices. We trek to bookfairs at 5:30 in the morning for you, look over every shelf in every little book dealer’s we come across and we make sure we buy authentically rare and special books to remove the guess work from your searching.
We want to make buying a vintage book more than just having a brown box delivered to your door like other dealers. So we put your personalised messages inside the books on printed sheets and wrap them carefully with six layers of decorative and protective wrapping. When you open one of our books you’ll also see a printed card explaining what the book is, and why it’s so special.
We’re sure that old books don’t have to be stuffy investments; described by the condition of their dust wrappers only. We add a lot more and bring the books to life.
The Vintage Book Company may be the only company in the world which would be perfectly content if no-one bought our stock. Hopefully it’s as amazing to receive one of our books as it is hard for us to let them go.
